Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA)

Nepal Veterinary Association (NVA) is a dedicated professional and scientific organization of Nepalese veterinarians and was founded in June 25, 1967 in Kathmandu. NVA was legally registered and recognized in February 24, 1969 by the Government of Nepal. NVA is affiliated as national member of the World Veterinary Association (WVA) since 1986, Federation of Asian Veterinary Association (FAVA) from 1998 and an associate member of Commonwealth Veterinary Association. Currently, NVA has more than 1,100 members. It aims to promote unity, harmony and cooperation among the professional members and provides platform to share scientific knowledge. In addition, NVA actively supports and advocates veterinary, livestock and public health related policies formulation. The ultimate goal is to contribute to prevent, control and eradicate animal diseases, safeguard public health from zoonotic diseases, and maintain the reputation and pride of veterinary profession. It works in coordination with several private agencies, academic and research institutions, government agencies, non-government and non-profit organizations to ensure food security and food safety and animal welfare by improving the animal health.
